But my work’s all done. So that totally cancels out the sleep deprivation.

•April 30, 2009 • 11 CommentsThe idea is to make you smile. If this audio experience does that in the slightest then I have done my job. Of course, I want it to be contextually feasible as well, but in all honesty after a while the prompt supplied was unintentionally put on the back burner. The approach I took with this exercise was heavily influenced by the comedy of the Monty Python and classical Brittish satire. I tried to keep a happy medium between absurdity and intermittent moments of accurately providing an environmental context. As I recount this Lee is speaking on how he believes his mock-up for the class poster looks awful. I’m curious as to why this is. He said we might actually love it and paced out of the room hurriedly. Anyway, please enjoy. And I’ll have the poster up here soon.
The Now N Later Project
•April 28, 2009 • Leave a CommentI’ve been done for a bit, and a lot of funny stories and awkward situation have arisen out of this sociology experiment that we were assigned a few weeks back. This came up while we were in the Weatherspoon discussing the “mates” we had found for our found objects. While looking at an installation piece which required you recline , Lee pointed out the shop to the left of Kinkos. He told us we should go in about every week or so (I believe this was the time preferred). We were to enter the store and buy one now n later. But only from the woman who worked there. If her husband were there we would not permitted to buy anything. This led to many an uncomfortable look from her husband when I would rapidly walk away from the store as I noticed he was working at the counter. At many points he seemed genuinely concerned about my aversion to buying from him, looking like he was going to say something but ultimately thinking otherwise. It was a really interesting role shift/reversal to play a part in-and I think I’ll be doing some similar exercises on my own time in the future. yezzir.

Does Anyone Else Recall These?

I was just wondering if anyone else remembered the sporadic operatic moments that would crop up in Bugs and Elmer’s awkward, dysfunctional relationship. Enjoy/feel confused.
